1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta

We have been contacted by Jack Sexton who recently acquired this 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta that been converted to RHD by Ruddspeed.
In the early 60’s K.N. Rudd (Engineers) Ltd was an agent for Alfa, as well as converting other cars. Our best guess is that with the motoring press coverage, which at the time carried several articles about the Ruddspeed converted Giulietta Sprints, we believe this car was most likely converted to RHD in 1962.
The car has now been added to the Ruddspeed Registry of cars that were converted Ruddspeed.

Alan Turner reached out to us after seeing our post on Facebook, he said that the Giulietta Sprint was originally owned and purchased from new by the late Elsie Smith of Surbiton in Surrey. She was a well-known figurehead in Classic Alfa Romeo Circles, so much so that the Giulietta Register have an award named after her. He also kindly let us use the first photo below, taken around 1982, and he thinks it might have been at Syon Park, Brentford UK.

The vehicle was sold for £39,375 auctioned via Classic Car Auctions at The Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show Sale 2024 on Saturday the 23rd of March - Sunday the 24th of March, more details can be seen via this link: https://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/1959-alfa-romeo-giulietta-recc32028-1-nec-0324
