1966 Volvo Amazon 131
Since we came across old advert for this car where it was described as a Rat car as all the panels had been resprayed in rattle can matt black. The previous owner wrote ”It really moves and sounds like a beast”. Lots of money spent on it including new weber carbs and a four into one manifold in back in 2007 as part of a £2.5k bill.
It was sold to Steve Edmonds who drove the car in the rattle can black before he stripped the car, getting rid of the filler , and with every intention of restoring the car. But as it ran and drove he thought he would enjoy it for a while and gave it a quick coat of paint, his plan was always to take it off the road and restore later. That was 10 years ago and it still has that quick and dirty paint job.
It’s a genuine Ruddspeed modified car, the engine has a Ruddspeed tuned head and exhaust and Weber twin carbs. A quick check on the DVLA website and it shows it was first registered in February 1966, it was originally red with a black interior and had a B18 engine.
Ruddspeed Serial Number: 66-2-105C
We would love to hear from anyone has more information on the car or would like to add to the history please feel free to contact us here at Ruddspeed.
