1964 Volvo Amazon 122S

This is a 1964 four-door 122S saloon, shortened gearstick, overdrive, 4-branch manifold into silencer then through to twin 2” exhaust pipes. Fitted with a correct Smiths rev counter It spent much of the last 20 years in Ireland before returning to British soil in 2015. Since then, it’s been looked after and slowly improved. There are also two Ruddspeed round enamel badges on the rear edge of the front wings, next to the ‘Volvo 122S’ badges. These feature the Ruddspeed arrow over a cross-hatched backing and are a rare sight on any Rudd-converted car. It has the engine plate, the tubular manifold and a remote gearchange for a shorter, faster throw. The owner never needed to dismantle the engine so we can’t be sure of any head porting, different valve springs or fast-road camshaft.

The car was sold November 2021 on The Market by Bonhams for £9,800. You can see more photos and details on the car at the link below.
